Detectorists is among the nominees for Scripted Comedy at the BAFTA Television Awards, it has been announced today. The show written, directed by and starring Mackenzie Crook has already had a number of award nominations including one for Mackenzie’s writing at the BAFTA TV Craft Awards.
The show, which also stars Toby Jones and a host of British acting talent, was a hit with the critics and audience alike launching to the highest ratings for a debut comedy series on BBC Four last autumn. The show was immediately commissioned for a second series, which is currently in production and will air later this year.
The first series is available on DVD.
